Allu Sirish, who earlier made Telugu debut with disaster movie “Gouravam”, had received similar kind of response from his Malayalam debut movie “1971: Beyond Borders”. Critics had blasted Allu Sirish left and right for his performance in the movie. Allu Sirish taught of cashing the craze of his brother Allu Arjun in Malayalam and thereby increasing his audience base, but his acting skills caused more damage to Allu Arjun’s fan base in Malayalam as people expected a lot from him being a brother of Allu Arjun.
“Telugu actor Allu Sirish was a big let down. He failed to justify his character and looked completely out of place. His acting in many scenes looked very amateurish and intolerable to an extent. Apart from Mohanlal, Asha Sarath and Bollywood actor Arunoday Singh, who played the Pakistani Major, all others were disappointing with their performances” quoted onlookersmedia
This is his fourth movie and audience expected a matured performance from him after all these years of experience in Telugu film industry, but he proved them wrong with this film. "1971: Beyond Borders" is an Indian war drama film written and directed by Major Ravi, with Mohanlal playing the dual role of Major Mahadevan and Major Sahadevan. The film is based on the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971.
