And The National Film Awards 2017 Goes To..

South Indian Films had shown their supremacy in 64th National Film Awards. Telugu industry won three awards. Shatamanam Bhavati bagged the Best Popular Film award for providing wholesome entertainment , whereas Romantic comedy Pellichoopulu was awarded the Best Film in Telugu language. Raju Sundaram bagged the Best Choreographer award for Janatha Garage.

Tamil industry won six awards, Joker bagged Best Tamil Film, Sundara Iyer bagged Best Playback Singer, 24 won awards for Best Production Design for Amit Ray and Subratra Chakraborty, Best Cinematography for Tirru and Best Visual Effects. Vairamuthu won Best lyricist Award for the song 'Endha Pakkam' from Dharmadurai.

Malayalam industry won five awards including Best Film for Mahesinte Prathikaram and Best Actress to Surabhi CM for her film Minnaminungu. Adhish Praveen won Best Child Artist for Kunju Daivam. Peter Hein won an award for Best Stunt Choreography for Puli Murugan.

Kannada industry won two awards, Konkani and Tulu films won an award each. Best Kannada Film award went to Reservation. Bapu Padmanabha won the Best Music Director award for the film Allama.
