Controversial super hit film 'Arjun Reddy' had set the cash registers ringing at the box office ticket counters with its bold content. However, the very own USP of the film turned out to be its major disadvantage as well. Even after one and half month, the Satellite Rights of 'Arjun Reddy' remained unsold so far.
Usually as soon as a small film gets hit talk, TV Channels compete with each other to bag the Satellite Rights. However, as per the censor board rules, ‘A’ certificate films can't be aired directly on Television unless or otherwise the makers remove bold scenes and re-censor the film to obtain 'U/V' certificate. But if such scenes were removed from a film like 'Arjun Reddy', the main essence of story will be lost and people may feel disconnected to watch this bland film.
Since there is no other option, Sandeep Reddy Vanga finally gave in after keeping the Satellite Rights for himself for nearly two months. 'Arjun Reddy' was made with a budget of around Rs 3 crore and the makers sold the satellite rights for the same price. Although Zee Telugu was the frontrunner on bagging Satellite Rights, it backed out in the last minute. Soon Star Maa guys stepped in and made an offer. On the other side, Tamil actor Vikram is remaking “Arjun Reddy” in Tamil with his son Dhruv as the hero.
