Mahesh Babu's Spyder and Jr.NTR's Jai Lava Kusa have competed each other at Box Office for this year’s Dussera season. Despite everyone betting big on Mahesh Babu’s Spyder, Jr. NTR’s Jai Lava Kusa had completely dominated the Spyder in terms of total collections so far. However, it does not mean that Jai Lava Kusa is the winner of this Dussera season. Even though Jai Lava kusa got better collections than Spyder, the movie did not get hit talk so far and it still has long way to go even to get breakeven.
As the saying goes, “The operation was successful, but the patient died” same thing happened for Jr.NTR. The collections are better than Mahesh Babu’s movie but movie is yet to recover lot of money. Jai Lava kusa still needs to collect a share of Rs 16 crore to recover the money invested by distributers and fall into "no-profit-no-loss" situation. This looks difficult as of now as the Dussera season came to an end.
Whereas Spyder is yet to collect a share of Rs 70+ crore to recover the money invested by distributers and fall into "no-profit-no-loss". Based on the money recovered till date, Spyder is now heading towards becoming double disaster, if it can’t collect another Rs 40 crore share in the coming days. The poor box office performance of these two big budgeted films had sent tremors to the distributer circles. There are many distributers who enthusiastically bought the rights of both Jai Lava Kusa and Spyder. Those people are now starring at a loss of 60% of their money invested.
