Nandamuri Balakrishna announced last year that he is interested to make a biopic on his father, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. He also shared that he would be playing the late legendary actor in this biopic. During the same time, Ram Gopal Varma revealed that he is proud to get the opportunity to direct this biopic on legendary actor cum politician.
However, after lot of discussion and dilly-dallying, RGV was dropped as director for this film, owing to his controversial way of filmmaking. During the story discussions, Balayya was not comfortable with the way Ram Gopal Varma wants to showcase the life of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. Later there was no noise on this biopic and everyone taught the idea of making NTR’s biopic was dropped.
During the recent press event of Paisa Vasool, Balakrishna revealed that the idea of making NTR’s biopic is not dropped and he is still in the process of identifying the right director who can depict the NTR's life journey in powerful and exciting way. It is heard that Balayya had asked Boyapati Srinu on his willingness to direct the film and the director had requested him to give some time to understand the in and outs of the story.
