Promoting film on the land is routine, but promoting the film in sky is the new style in film promotions. Rajinikanth starrer ‘2.0’ promotions was kickstarted today in Los Angeles by releasing a 100-foot-tall hot air balloon with the pictures of Rajinikanth and Akshay printed on it.
The film is one of the most expensive film ever made in India with a budget of 400 crores. Raju Mahalingam, head of Lyca Productions said, “We are treating this film as Hollywood film that is the reason we have started promotions in Hollywood. We will send this hot air balloon to all the Balloon festivals. Test inflation successfully completed! Waiting for weather clearance. Thalaivar set to fly high in the sky, 2.0 all set to rule the world”.
The makers had come up with this unique promotional strategy to publicize about their upcoming film 2.0, directed by Shankar. This film is the sequel to 2010 Tamil film ‘Enthiran’. Rajinikanth is playing the role of scientist Vaseegaran and Akshay Kumar will be seen in antagonist role of scientist Dr. Richard who wants to take revenge on Vaseegaran after an experiment goes wrong and turns Akshay into half-crow half-human form. The film is slated to release on October 18 this year.
