Rana Daggubati, who had become c/o address for choosing diverse and versatile subjects, is once again getting ready to enthrall audience with his Hollywood debut movie “Vijil: Mystery of the Phantom Ship”. The movie is a historical period film based on a ship named 'Vijil', which was disappeared on November 8, 1888 with more than 700 passengers because of massive tropical cyclone.
In this film, Rana will be seen in the role of a scientist/researcher who investigates the whereabouts of the missing ship based upon the historical evidence, fictionalized tales and testimony of the people involved with that ship. Director Dhwanil Mehta shared that, “This period film attempts to faithfully depict the sequence of events during 1800's time period that led to disappearance of the ship named Vijil.”
The makers are now currently in London, where the pre-production works is going on in full swing. Apart from the main lead Rana, the makers are also busy in selecting the artists for the other important characters and are also identifying the locations for the film shooting. This big budgeted movie is said have world-class VFX effects and would be in the lines of “Life of Pi”. A London based production house is producing the movie and they are planning to start shooting from first quarter of 2018.
