You may not remember Ashrita Vemuganti by her name, but you would definitely remember her as Devasena’s sister-in-law in S.S. Rajamouli’s “Baahubali: The Conclusion”. When most of the actors had been waiting in front of Rajamouli’s office hoping to get a chance to act in Magnum opus film Baahubali, luck smiled on Ashrita Vemuganti, who never had any plans to act in Baahubali.
After the release of "Baahubali : The conclusion", everyone were enquiring about the girl who was seen as Anushka’s sister-in-law and Queen of Kunthala Kingdom. She amazed audience with not just her expressions but also with her dance performance in “Muripala Mukunda” song. Many didn’t know that she is classical dancer by profession who got the chance to act in Baahubali by stroke of luck.
“I was performing classical dance at an event and had no clue that Rajamouli along with his family were present among the audience. After month later, I got a call from Rajamouli’s son Kartikheya, enquiring whether I was interested to act for a role in Baahubali 2. I felt very happy and accepted the offer and am ever grateful that my dance got me this opportunity. Earlier, many dancers forayed into the field of acting, as they were brilliant in what they did. Now, becoming a part of that league is very satisfying,” says proud Ashrita.
