Rajamouli's Father Made Krish Director

Rajamouli’s father, K. V. Vijayendra Prasad who tasted success as story writer in Bollywood with Bajrangi Bhaijaan had bagged another offer from Bollywood, to provide story for historical drama film on Rani Lakshmi Bai

Earlier, Bollywood director Ketan Mehta was roped in as director for this biopic movie with Kangana Ranaut as lead, after nearly working for 2 years on this movie, differences cropped up between Kangana and director Ketan because of Kangana’s too much involvement in the direction department and soon Ketan moved out of this project.

When Kangana was looking out for another director to direct this prestigious movie, writer Vijayendra Prasad had suggested Krish name and showed her the recent krish’s historical action film “Gautamiputra Satakarni”. Impresssed with the movie, Kangana asked Krish to direct this film.

This would be Krish's second outing in Bollywood; his first movie was 'Gabbar Is Back', remake of Chiranjeevi's 'Tagore', starring Akshay Kumar in the lead role.

This is the first biopic for Kangana, who will be playing the role of Rani Lakshmi Bai. 'Manikarnika' has been finalized as the title for this film, which is birth name of Rani Lakshmi Bai. This movie will be simultaneously released in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.
