Box-Office Weekend : Geetha Govindam Rules

Collections at Tollywood Box-office is still being completely dominated by Geetha Govindam despite completing 4 weeks at the box office ticket windows. Even after four weeks after the release of "Geetha Govindam", no other film is able to dent its collections.

Most of the 7 recent releases (Manu, C/O Kancharapalem, Silly Fellows, Paperboy, @Narthanasala, Aatagallu and Neevevaro) that were released after Geetha Govindam, had flopped miserably.
 

1. Geetha Govindam (Week 4) 

It is a tale of a young guy Govindam who falls in love with a peppy girl named Geetha.

Geetha Govindam had a fantastic first weekend across all centers. For the 4th consecutive Weekend Geetha Govindam has set the cash registers ringing at the Box-office. It is a much bigger blockbuster hit in Vijay devarakonda’s career after Arjun Reddy.

Result: Quadruple Blockbuster.

2. Manu (Week 1)

Manu, a local artist falls in love with Neela, a photographer. However, after Akbar, a tenant comes to Neela's house, things start getting a little strange.

This film was released with good expectations but the director could not make use of the opportunity to tell the story convincingly. The film received negative reviews from everyone. Brahmanandam's son, Raja Gowtham received another flop in his career

Result: Bad Openings

3. C/o Kancharapalem (Week 1)

C/o Kancharapalem is a collection of love stories that depicts the struggles of four different people : Raju a fifty-year-old man who is still unmarried; Sundaram a school going kid who falls in love with his classmate, Joseph a wayward youth who falls for a dancer and Gaddam who is deeply in love with a prostitute.

The movie opened decently well at the box office on the first day. The movie collected $ 57K on its first day through special premieres in USA. The total gross of C/o Kancharapalem had reached $125K and is still looking good.

Result: Decent Start

4. Silly Fellows (Week 1)

An influential politician on his deathbed reveals the whereabouts of an illegal money stash to his trusted aide, a local MLA. But when the MLA becomes amnesiac after meeting with an accident, his right-hand men set out to find the money before it falls into the wrong hands.

The movie could not strike a chord with the audience and opened to an average response both in Tollywood and USA. The movie is turning out to be another setback in the careers of Sunil and Allari Naresh.

Result: Poor Start
